This Kiwano Toxic Sludge drink is a glowing, slimy concoction perfect for any Halloween gathering. With its otherworldly green color and unique texture, it's sure to delight (and maybe gross out) your guests—in the best possible way!
Ingredients
-
2 Kiwano melons
-
1 cup lemonade
-
1 cup pineapple juice
-
1 cup coconut water
-
A few drops of green food coloring (optional, for a more intense "toxic" glow)
-
Ice cubes
-
Club soda or lemon-lime soda
-
Optional garnish: Slice of kiwano melon or gummy worms
Directions
Cut the Kiwano melons in half and scoop out the flesh, including the seeds. Kiwano’s unique gelatinous texture is key to achieving the “sludge” effect.
In a blender or mixing glass, combine the Kiwano pulp, lemonade, pineapple juice, and coconut water. Blend or stir well until the mixture is smooth, but still retains some of the kiwano's slime-like texture. Add a few drops of green food coloring for an extra spooky, glowing look.
To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the Kiwano Toxic Sludge mixture over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full. Top off with club soda or lemon-lime soda to add a fizzy, bubbling effect reminiscent of toxic waste.
Garnish with a slice of Kiwano melon on the rim, or for an extra gross-out factor, drape gummy worms over the glass to resemble creepy crawlies emerging from the sludge.
Recipe Note
This Kiwano Toxic Sludge drink will definitely be a hit at your Halloween party. It’s both creepy and refreshing, with the exotic flavor of kiwano melon combined with tangy lemonade and sweet pineapple juice.
