2 Green Plantains, peeled and sliced into 1-inch-thick rounds
1–2 tablespoons avocado oil or olive oil
Sea salt, to taste
Garlic powder or adobo seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
Toss the plantain slices with a light coating of oil and a pinch of salt.
Air fry in a single layer for 5–6 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes until soft and golden.
Remove and smash each piece gently with the bottom of a glass or flat utensil to about ¼-inch thickness.
Brush or spray lightly with more oil, then return to the air fryer. Cook for an additional 4–5 minutes until crisp and golden.
Season to taste with more salt, garlic powder, and lime juice.
Dip in garlic mojo, guacamole, or a spicy aioli. Great as a side dish, snack, or base for toppings like ceviche or black beans.
Best served hot and crispy! To reheat, pop them back in the air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes.
