This is a versatile sauce. It can be served with savory or sweet dishes. Try it hot with lamb chops. Or, cool it and pour it over pie, ice cream, etc.
Ingredients

3 ripe Korean Pears

2 cups apple juice

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon crystallized ginger

1 Meyer Lemon, juiced

1 canela (cinnamon stick)

1/4 cup sugar

1 pinch sea salt
-
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions
Peel, core, and chop the pears.
In a saucepan simmer pears, apple juice, butter, ginger, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, sugar, and salt until pears are tender, about 25 minutes.
Remove pan from heat and stir in vanilla.
Discard cinnamon stick.
Carefully puree the sauce until smooth.
