Crisp, sweet, a bit of heat, make this a habit-forming salsa. Shhhh! The secret is fresh apple!
Ingredients
-
½ bag (about 8 ounces) Melissa’s Veggie Sweet Mini Peppers, stems and seeds removed, cut into rings
-
2 ripe mangos, peeled, pit removed, diced small (see Chef's tips below)
-
¼ ripe pineapple, peeled, diced (see Chef's tips below)
-
½ Melissa’s Jicama, peeled, diced small
-
-
1 Granny Smith Apple, cored, diced small (If not in season, use your favorite apple)
-
1 fresh Habanero Pepper, stem and seeds removed, minced (see Chef's tips below)
-
1 lime, zest and juice (see Chef's tips below)
-
Kosher salt, to taste
Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine the veggie sweet peppers and the next 6 ingredients. Add the zest and juice of the lime and salt to taste. Mix well and serve with veggie sweet wedges as a healthy alternative to chips.
Recipe Note
If Habanero Peppers are too hot for you, feel free to substitute with a 'cooler' pepper such as Serrano.
