This pretty heirloom variety is grown on a family farm near Mt. Hood, Oregon, and is only available for a limited time each year. It’s one of the few red-fleshed apples in the world! Its unique color is all-natural due to the presence of anthocyanin, a natural pigment also found in cherries.
Hidden Rose Apples® are a bit tart to eat out-of-hand, but they make a beautiful baking apple. Consider making “rose” apple tartlets, pies and more!
Store apples in the refrigerator's crisper drawer. This will help them stay fresh for longer. Note that apples release ethylene gas, which can cause other fruits to ripen more quickly. Store them separately to prevent this.
