Melissa’s Seckel Pears are a brownish-yellow to russet color with a dark red blush. These sweet treats are small, almost bite-sized, with a satisfying, slightly grainy texture. This variety offers a lot of flavor in a little package.
Eat these pears out of hand to best enjoy their juicy and delicious flavor. Seckel pears are also delightful when sliced and marinated in brandy, added to a fresh salad, and also make a beautiful garnish.
Melissa’s Seckel Pears should be stored at room temperature for up to one week after ripening. They may be refrigerated to stop the ripening process. Ripe pears are soft to the touch.
