Wraps, Making Tortilla Wraps
The first step to wrapping is to warm the tortilla slightly so that it becomes more pliable and prevents it from tearing.
You can warm the tortilla in several manners. In a microwave, heat for 10 to 15 seconds.
On the stovetop, (over medium high heat) warm the tortilla in a skillet for 15 seconds per side or wrap in aluminum foil and heat in the oven at 375 degrees for 5 minutes.
Once the filling for the wrap is laid down, fold the right and left edges over the filling towards the center.
Next, fold the bottom edge of the tortilla up towards the center and continue to roll until the tortilla is completely wrapped around the filling.
Most savory wraps contain approximately 1 ¼ cups of filling.
Be care not to overfill the tortilla.
Storing Wraps
The advantage of wraps is that most can be made ahead and consumed later.
Cover the wrap tightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator up to 12 hours.
