Medium/large in size, the Crimson Delight has an extremely firm texture that is extra-juicy crisp.

It will take several years of increased commercial planting before the Crimson Delight will enjoy wide distribution.

However, because of the variety’s long-term storage characteristics, this new variety does have the potential to provide season-long supplies as popularity spurs production.

Choose apples that are firm and hollow sounding when tossed a few inches in the air and caught with the palm of the hand. Avoid dense or dull-looking fruit, which is a sign of age. Kept refrigerated, apples will store for 2-3 weeks.
