Stimulate your culinary creativity by stocking your pantry with this gourmet dried collection of mushrooms from Melissa's. When you have this many varieties handy, your options are limitless in the kitchen. Melissa's dried mushroom line features a Mushroom Medley blend and for more specific uses, individually packaged Chanterelles, Oyster, Porcini, Shiitake and Morels.

True Morels are prized by gourmet chefs and are among the most desired wild mushrooms in the world, most likely because they're so hard to find. Shiitake is the second most widely cultivated mushroom globally and has been a popular cooking staple for hundreds of years. Your slow-braised labors of love get a sense of gracefulness with Porcini's addition, and Chanterelle's meatiness complements any dish — we prefer scrambled eggs or herby risottos! Lastly, think of Oyster mushrooms as designer fungi that can be used as subtle flavoring agents without rehydration; just rinse and add directly to any recipe that will cook for at least 25 minutes. For the rest, simply blanch in boiling water for 2 – 5 minutes or soak 30 minutes in lukewarm water, wine or consommé to reconstitute. If desired, reserve liquid to add even more flavor to your dishes.

Store in a cool, dry place. After rehydrating, trim tough stems.

Note
1 ounce of Melissa's reconstituted dried mushrooms equals 4 ounces of Melissa's fresh mushrooms.
