The exotic Lychee fruit is extremely juicy with a distinctive, slightly acidic fragrance and flavor; the fruit is comparable to grapes in texture with a white, translucent coloring. These small, round fruits are about the same size as a kumquat with a tough "bumpy" bright red rind that peels easily. Each contains a single, large, inedible seed.
Lychees can be simply enjoyed as hand-fruit or chopped and added to ice creams, custards, cocktails and fruit salads.
