Nam Doc Mai: This Thai variety features an intense mango flavor that tastes like coconut cream and honey. It’s ripe with soft and yellow. Nam Doc Mai is commonly used in Thailand for the dessert “sticky rice mango.”
Kiew Savoy: This Indian variety has dark green skin and sweet, firm, crunchy flesh. Peel it and eat it like an apple, or use it in spicy green mango salad.
Mallika: Another Indian variety, the Mallika mango is ultra sweet, fiberless and perfect for desserts. This variety turns bright yellow with a pinkish blush when ripe.
Mangos are an excellent source of vitamin C and a good source of folate.
Best stored in the refrigerator when ripe, up to 4 days.
