With a pure and simple flavor, Melissa's Organic Parsley finds itself on many plates as more than just a garnish.
Parsley is the most commonly consumed fresh herb in the United States.
While this herb is often used as a garnish, originating from a belief that chewing a few of the fresh leaves at the end of the meal freshens the breath, it is also one of the most versatile of culinary herbs found in cuisines around the world.
Fresh young parsley leaves are the main component of the Middle Eastern tabbouleh salad; however, the leafy green plant usually plays the role of a culinary flavoring. The herb is especially complimentary in tomato dishes, baked potatoes, sautéed fish as well as egg dishes. Parsley is an especially important in French cuisine as integral ingredient in that country’s many traditional sauces, soups, meat, fowl and vegetable dishes.
All vegetables offered in Melissa’s organic program are grown using with no chemical-based pesticides or fungicides and are third-party certified as being organically grown in accordance with the guidelines mandated by the USDA's Organic Foods Production Act of 2002.
