While this Korean pepper is new to the U.S. marketplace, it is a staple ingredient in Southeast Asia, especially Korean cuisine.
The dark green pepper is 3-5 inches long with a tapered tip. It has a relatively mild heat, which is a little spicier than an Anaheim but not quite as hot as a Jalapeno.
Korean Peppers are one of the key components in that nation’s famed pickled Kim Chee as well as a green chili pancake called Gochujeon.
Peppers should be firm and bright with no wrinkling or soft spots. Store fresh peppers in a breathable plastic food bag or a paper bag. This pepper will keep up to two week in refrigerator crisper.
