Dried California peppers are the perfect ingredient for adding a smoky, fruity heat to your culinary creations. These peppers are the dried form of the Anaheim chile, a mild to medium-hot pepper named for the city of Anaheim in Southern California.
The approachable heat of the Dried California Pepper makes it a versatile ingredient that pleases many palates. From traditional Mexican mole to black bean soup, this chile adds an inviting, complex flavor—it’s a good source of vitamins A and C, too!
Dried peppers can be ground into a dried seasoning or rehydrated. To rehydrate, wipe peppers, remove stems and shake out seeds. Place peppers in a bowl and add boiling water to cover. Place a small plate on top to keep them submerged. Soak for 15 to 20 minutes, and they are ready to use!
Store peppers in a cool, dry place.
