Chanterelles have a delicate, nutty and often robust flavor. The chewy texture of this wild mushroom may be enjoyed as a separate side dish, but is best suited for meats, eggs and poultry. Chanterelles may be sliced and sautéed with butter and garlic or served with pasta or veal.
