Canary Melons vary in shape from oval to oblong, almost similar to a bright yellow Honeydew Melon. The pale green to cream-colored skin protects the juicy pale orange flesh. Its firm, crisp flesh offers a very distinctive delicately sweet flavor, which unlike its appearance tastes more like a Cantaloupe.
They are delicious eaten by themselves, included in fruit salads, or added to drinks, such as fruit punches or daiquiris. For a new twist, try one with a sprinkle of ginger, salt, or a squeeze of lemon or lime.
Melissa's Canary Melons are hand-selected for excellent quality. Choose firm melons with a sweet fragrance. Look for fruit heavy for its size, yielding slightly under pressure. Keep cut or ripe fruit in refrigerator for up to three days. Ripen at room temperature.
