Bouquet Garni
A tied bunch of fresh herbs used to season a long-cooking dish such as soup, stews, or stock. Tying them together makes for easy removal.
The classic bouquet contains a few springs and stems of thyme and parsley as well as a bay leaf, and is wrapped in cheesecloth, a net bag, or two green stalks of leek.
Bouquet garni may also include any other fresh herbs that are appropriate to the specific dish you are creating, but be mindful of the quantity and strength-it's always easier to add more seasoning to a dish than to remove it.
