This is a fun recipe to make on your own or with children for the summer holidays.
1 lb. white chocolate chips
1 lb. ripe strawberries, washed, dried
3 drops blue food coloring
3 tbsp. shortening or more, if needed
Place a heat proof bowl over a pot of simmering water, being certain that the bottom of the bowl doesn’t make contact with the water. Place the chocolate chips into the bowl and stir until melted. Dip each strawberry two-thirds of the way into the chocolate and then place them on parchment to dry.
Stir the food coloring and 3 tablespoons of shortening into the rest of the chocolate. You may need to add more shortening, a little at a time, if the chocolate is too thick. When the strawberries are dry, dip them one third of the way into the blue colored chocolate. Place them on the parchment to dry. Once dry, enjoy.
