Ingredients
-
1/2 pound Melissa's Plum Bites - diced
-
1/2 package seedless raisins
-
1 egg
-
1 tablespoon water
-
20 sheets Melissa's Wonton Wrappers
-
Canola oil - for frying
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
1/2 pound Melissa's Plum Bites - diced
-
1/2 package seedless raisins
-
1/2 cup brandy
Brandy Sauce
Directions
Heat oil to 350ºF.
In a bowl, mix together the first 2 ingredients. In a small bowl, slightly beat the egg with the water. Place about a teaspoon of the plum mixture in the center of each of the wonton wrappers.
Brush the edges with the egg, fold in half and press to seal the edge. Carefully place in the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Brandy Sauce
In a small pan over medium high heat, melt the butter and stir in the sugar. Next, add the rest of the sauce ingredients and stir. Carefully light (flambé) the pan contents with a match to cook the alcohol out of the brandy.
Continue cooking over a low flame for 10 minutes. Carefully pour mixture into a blender and blend until smooth, using caution as mixture is hot.
To serve, place the wontons on a platter with a bowl of the dipping sauce.
Recipe Note
Dusting the won tons with powdered sugar makes for a pretty presentation.
