Ingredients
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
¼ brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
¼ teaspoon allspice
-
5-6 Melissa's Asian Pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
-
1 tablespoon Melissa's Meyer Lemon juice
-
1 (9 inch) pie crust
Directions
After thinly slicing the pears, heat the butter in a sauté pan and add the sugars, cinnamon, and allspice. Allow to blend over low to medium heat and then delicately lay the slices of pear into the bubbling sugar mixture (be careful not to touch with fingers, the mixture will be very hot).
Add the lemon juice and allow the apples to cook in the mixture for about 10 minutes until apples are covered in the sugar mixture and softened.
Prepare crust as directed on package and simply add the pear mixture into the crust and bake on a cookie sheet in case of overflow.
Cook at 350ºF for about 30-45 minutes based on your oven. If the crust edges darken, then cover to protect with aluminum foil.
Garnish with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
