Ingredients
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
1/4 cup hazelnuts, chopped
-
4 teaspoons Thompson Seedless Raisins, Flame Seedless Raisins or dried currants
-
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon or ground all-spice
-
4 baking apples
-
4 teaspoons butter
Directions
In a small bowl combine the brown sugar, hazelnuts, currants, and spice. Core the apples from the top, making a large enough hole in the center for filling, but not cutting the skin at the bottom. Place 1 tablespoon of butter in each apple, followed by a tablespoon of the filling. Wrap each apple tightly in aluminum foil and place, top down, directly on hot coals. After 5 minutes, using long tongs, turn apples right side up and continue to bake for 3-5 minutes longer.
